Mark Young, School Board President

Mark has been married to his wife, Kelly, for 20+ years.  They have three children, one attending ASU and two attending GCS.  The Youngs attend East Valley Bible Church and are actively involved in different ministries there.  Mark received a bachelor's of science degree at the University of Southern California and a master's of business administration degree from Arizona State University.  Mark has been in the banking industry for 25+ years.  He is employed at the present time as a banking executive with California Bank & Trust specializing in real estate investment banking services.  Mark and his family enjoy snow skiing, golf, tennis, and the multiple sports each of the kids participate in at GCS.

Dan Roberts, School Board Treasurer

Dan was born and raised in El Segundo, California. He attended El Camino College earning a degree in general studies. Moving to Arizona in 1985 to work for America West Airlines (a new airline to Phoenix), Dan met Nancy, the love of his life. Dan and Nancy have been married for 17 years and are now busy raising their two teenage sons, Caston (16) and Quade (14). In 1990, Dan founded a drive-in auto service company, opening several locations in the Valley over a period of 15 years. Dan continues today working the real estate side of the business after successfully selling the company's retail operations several years ago. Dan and his family attend East Valley Bible Church where they have served for the past 15 years.

Brian Kingdeski, School Board Secretary

Brian was born and raised in Syracuse, NY. He received a baseball scholarship to play in Dayton, OH, at Wright State University where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in Economics. Brian has been active in the restaurant business since college, opening several Subway and pizza franchises. He has been married to Tracy for 10+ years and has three children, Zach, Karli, and Kendall, who attend GCS. Brian enjoys spending time teaching and training his children in the ways of the Lord and thanks God for the blessing that his wife is to him. Brian enjoys coaching the GCS junior high basketball team. He and his family attend East Valley Bible Church and are currenly leading a Home Group. Brian is a licensed real estate agent and enjoys buying and selling homes.

Steve Currier

Steve spent his first 30 years in Ohio receiving his bachelor's degree and his master's degree in Education from Bowling Green State University. Steve taught school at the university and high school levels both in the private and public school systems.  After 20 years in the fitness industry, Steve helped develop and currently operates OPremium Waters, a locally owned bottled water company. Steve has been married to his wife, Susanne, for 20+ years and together they have three sons, Zac (SGCS graduate), Travis (SGCS graduate), and Dillon (senior).  Steve is the varsity men’s basketball coach and has had the great pleasure of coaching all three of his sons. The Currier family resides in Gilbert and attends East Valley Bible Church.

Tim Killeen

Tim is the proud husband of Susanne (Suzie) Killeen and has three children (Jacob, Josh and Emma) attending Gilbert Christian Schools. Tim is a fifth generation native of Phoenix and yet attended the University of Iowa on a baseball scholarship where he earned his bachelor's degree in Economics. After a six-year professional baseball career, Tim began an insurance career in 1998 with his family agency, where he served as president. Tim and his family attend East Valley Bible Church and continue to serve in various leadership capacities. Tim enjoys almost anything athletic and encouraging people toward a deeper love and commitment to Christ.

Dr. Kerry Pearson

Kerry grew up in South Dakota. He went to college at South Dakota State University. He graduated from Pacific University College of Optometry. Kerry is the managing partner of Pearson Eyecare Group, LLC. He has been married to his wife, Lisa, for 20+ years. They have two children, Kyle and Jenna (senior). Kerry is an elder at Harvest Bible Church.

Scott Malm

Our newest member of the GCS Governing Board is Scott Malm. Scott married his college sweetheart, Ann, in 1991, and they have four children: Lauren, TJ and Jace attend GCS, with Grace to start next year. The Malms are members of San Tan Bible Church, where Scott serves as an elder and occasionally fills the pulpit. Scott graduated from the Universtiy of Arizona, obtained a master's of business administration degree from the University of Wales, UK, and returned to the UofA to obtain his law degree. Scott is a member of the law firm Gust Rosenfeld, representing clients with business and real estate issues. Scott and Ann's families have been involved in Christian education for many years; the Malm children are the fourth generation on both sides of their families to attend a Christian school.
