Spiritual Growth

Gilbert Christian Schools’ (GCS) elementary students learn directly from the Word of God as part of their curriculum. Students read the Bible and memorize scripture to better equip them as they “grow in wisdom and in stature” (Luke 2:52). As students mature, inductive Bible study skills are introduced to study scriptures one book at a time.

Fine Arts

Aside from the core academic subjects, fine arts are an important aspect of a GCS education at all levels. Students as young as first grade participate in art and strings. The choir department offers a children’s choir that meets weekly after school and performs twice during the school year. In the early grades, students learn to play the violin and in the later grades, have the choice of viola, cello, or bass. They, too, perform twice a year on stage. Additional musical instrument offerings are being considered for the upcoming school year.

Community

Giving back to the community is woven into the culture at GCS. Students from kindergarten through 12th grade are encouraged and mentored to assist in projects that affect the school and their community. Food drives, soup kitchen assistance, and missions (both here and abroad) characterize the outreach efforts at GCS.

Athletics

GCS has an outstanding athletic program.  Students beginning in third grade have the opportunity to participate in a variety of sports at a recreational or competitive level.
