Change for Change Program

Change for Change is a program run by the Gilbert Christian Schools Student Council in an effort to give back to its community. Each quarter, students are encouraged to bring in as much change as they can any day of the week to raise money for a local Christian cause (charity, organization, or mission).

Coin jars are placed in each elementary, homeschool, junior high and high school classroom for collection. Student Council members collect all of the coins for each class each week. The elementary class that collects the most coins at the end of the quarter is announced at Grandma’s Cookies and presented a traveling Change for Change trophy to display in their classroom for the quarter. This program runs through the end of the year. Each quarter, the coins raised benefit a different charity. Families or staff of Gilbert Christian Schools may solicit ideas to Student Council each quarter.

Ignition

"For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through endurance and encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.  May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you spirit of unity among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus, so that with one heart and mouth you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ."
Romans 15:4 - 6

Ignition is a program run by the Gilbert Christian Schools Student Council to equip the junior high and high school student body in dealing with the desires of the world by first becoming united through worship, relevant teaching, and interaction.  As one body, we can extend the kingdom of God, reflect Jesus and allow the Holy Spirit to dwell in us until the day of Christ's return.  We do this by inviting Christian guest speakers to our campus four times a year to talk to junior high and high school students about life experiences and lessons. The program runs during two class periods and includes worship for 30 minutes, listening to the speaker for 30 minutes, and then dividing up the students into guys and girls for gender-specific lessons, which include teacher testimonies.
